Experience
My experience with Drama and Teaching
I am currently in my 4th year of Arts Education at the U of R concentrating in Drama. We get a comprehensive education on all art strands: dance, drama, music, visual arts and literature.
Although I am not originally from Regina, I have spent many summers participating in Globe Theatre Regina Summer Laboratory. I started when I was 14 and took part in classes, festivals and shows. I even got the opportunity to be a teacher assistant for an amazing summer!
I have taken Free My Muse classes throughout middle and high school. This fall, I got the opportunity to come back as an instructor! I am teaching Character Development and well as putting on workshops. This company is my biggest inspiration for creating Center Stage.
Through both my pre internships and internship, I have had the opportunity to teach drama to grades 1-12. Most recently, I have taught a drama 10, 11 and 12 split class with 36 students Teaching in a traditional school setting has taught me to have a reason behind everything I am doing and make sure they are not only having fun but learning what I set out to teach!
